SASCHA KLAAR - BELIEVE IN YOUR DREAMS
Sascha Klaar was born and raised in a Mönchengladbach
based family of music maniacs. At the age of 6 he discovered for himself the
love for music. Little Sascha began to drum with his mother`s wooden spoon on
whatever would make a noise. For the preservation of the furniture and for the
love of their son, the parents had pity and bought him as Christmas present
the drums he had been eagerly awaiting. The foundation stone for a promising
musical career had been laid henceforward. Sascha practiced very hard! At the
age of a teenager he had become so good that he was able to gain experience as
a drummer on-stage in diverse bands. One of these experiences was with Otto
Ortwein, the white “Fats Domino” of the group “Fats and his Cats”.
During this time he found his great passion for Rock’n’Roll. At the age of
12 Sascha decided to broaden his musical horizon and he started to play the
organ. He formed his first own band. For the sake of studying music he
switched once again from the organ to the piano when he was 15 years old.
One year later Sascha began a practical training in a music store and his life
took a crucial turn. Being already known as pianist and entertainer, Sascha
got an employment in a piano bar in Switzerland. He had planned to stay for 3
months but in the end it was 5 years.
During that time he had been able to gain even more experience. Then he formed
his band “The Rockets” under the motto “Let the good times roll”.
Already as a youngster he was nominated for the German Offspring-Pop-Festival
Dresden and in November 1991 he received the Honour award as best rising
artist of the Franz Goethe Foundation at the Kulturpalast of Dresden.
In 1993 Sascha produced his CD “Kingfish Session`93”, featuring numerous
original compositions as well as hits from the 50s and the 60s.
He then made lots of performances with well-established artists like Ray
Charles and the Jackson Singers. Despite of the hard life on tour Sascha
composed at that time such popular songs as “Special Nights in Berlin” and
“Walking on the Beach”.
After the completion of his CD “I feel so good” he received his first
prestigious award of the Trade Press “Artist of the Year” in Frankfurt.
Several appearances in TV and at festivals, for example with Hans Meiser (RTL),
the Boxing World Championship (Sat.1), Audi, Porsche and at jazz festivals
demonstrate that the “Devil at the Piano” has long since achieved a
nationwide degree of popularity.
In the year 1999 Sascha got the award as “Artist of the Year” for the
second time and he won the “Goldenes Künstlermagazin” in the category
“Oldie Show”, where he was in such an exclusive circle with persons like
Jennifer Rush, David Copperfield and the “Four Tops”.
In 1999 the death of his beloved father and mentor overshadowed his big
success.
On his 15-year stage jubilee in 2003 Sascha Klaar released “The best
of...”, a double CD which showed his full musical range in an impressive
manner. In honour of his beloved father he dedicated the CD to him as obituary
for the steady support on his way to become a big artist.
In 2004 his first DVD “Get up” was released and he received the more than
well-deserved prize as “Entertainer of the Year 2004”.
Thanks to his success and his awards within Germany even foreign countries
took notice of him and thus Sascha could prove his impressive entertainment
qualities in front of a high-ranking audience in Marbella and Mallorca.
Well-known names like Gerd Käfer, E-ON, Viessmann, Hexal, Vorwerk and
Cadillac discovered Sascha as a crowd puller and the guarantee for success of
many events.
In 2006 Sascha Klaar launches the CD “Das ist mein Leben”. On this CD he
does not only show his outstanding musical skills but his intimate side as
well, since many songs include things which are important and valuable to him.
The award for the “International Show Prize 2007” presents the temporary
climax of his career so far. It mirrors the opinion of the audience and of
faculty judges who appreciate his remarkable talent and his hard work.
Wherever Sascha is playing his wild Rock’n’Roll, virtuos Boogie Woogie and
soft Blues, thanks to his great entertainment and his passionate delight in
playing, he captures the hearts of his audience. Accordingly the German
newspaper BILD says about him,
“Music is his passion – The audience is his drug”.
2008 was a particular exciting year for the artist with passion. Besides his
numerous performances and the release of his CD and DVD “Ein Leben fuer die
Musik”, Sascha accomplished to overcome the European boundaries and he
celebrated a huge success in China.
He gave a concert at the German Ball of Economy, presented by the German
Chamber of Commerce, and the crowd went wild. Mr Klaar would never have dared
to dream of a success like that! There is no end in sight yet, since the year
2009 is set to see the green light as well.
At the beginning of the year he was nominated once again as Artist of the Year
and two television appearances will be on the programme. The one in the show
“Fröhlicher Weinberg” of the SWR and the other on May 31 in the ZDF`s “Fernsehgarten”.
Due to his great success of the last year, Sascha will give two more concerts
in the Middle Kingdom, at the two Balls of Economy of the German Chamber of
Commerce in Beijing and Shanghai.
